I don't have any kids yet and I completely agree that pets are less expensive, they don't get into as much trouble, they don't give you loads of attitude and you won't catch them drinking or smoking. Someday I'll probably have one kid, but right now my pets are plenty. My parents have a cat that just loves dogs. She'll head butt them, lay on them and let the dog bat her around like a toy. She grew up with a puppy though so she got used to it real fast. She's an old kitty now and the puppy/dog died of cancer just about a year ago, but he was pretty old too.
I don't think my cats would know what to do if they saw a bunch of puppies. They'd probably freak out since they don't like my father-in-law's little dog that comes over. We have three guinea pigs and they don't know what to do with them either. Mostly they just sit and stair at them as the run around their play area. Something they sit in the area with them and once in a while bopp them on the head. The cats don't have claws so it's ok. It's pretty cute to watch really. So did you get to keep the one in the picture or give them all away?
I heartedly concur with NewsGrl...what a cutie. I am a softie when it comes to pups...especially Labs. My uncle and aunt were members of the Wyoming Kennel Club back in the day when they were known internationally for the champions they turned out. My uncle and aunt had a grand national champion black Lab so from about 3 yrs. old on I have great memories of being run over by litters of Lab pups on a regular basis til they quit breeding them. The yellow Lab I have now...he's our 4 legged grandchild :0)....owns our boat, 3 chairs, 2 queen size beds (one of which he allows the spouse and I to share with him) and occasionally lets us use the pick-up he owns....LOLOLOLOL!! I can stand up to many threatening things in this life but like the spouse says...put a pup in my arms (or grandbaby) and I resemble a Kraft marshmellow. So what's the story about this cutie in the picture?
Thank You River Rat. I feel priviledged to be added to your "friends". Anyone who lists "salvation", loves his wife and is ex-Navy is ALRIGHT!! in my book :0) However, I must warn you that I am NOT a techie and have lost more "comments" I've tried to leave than I've managed to get thru....I didn't think Newzgrl was EVER going to hear from me before I got one thru....so if you don't hear from me for awhile it's because I'm "wandering" around in Blgs. Gazette cyberspace..LOLOLOL!!!
Don't worry River Rat I am 28 and it took me a while to figure this thing out too and I work at a computer all day also. You are very lucky that you get to work from home. I wish I had that luxury especially on a day like today. Well enjoy the weather and I will see you on the blogs.
